Over Time

I was up late and I started thinking...what are some things I want my girls to do when they get older? What do I want my friends and family to remember to do right now, and later on in life? What have I already done in my life? So, I decided to make a list. It's incomplete and random, but it's my list, so enjoy!

Give in to me. Make a CD. Tell someone they have something stuck in their teeth. Cry. Hold onto a dream. Don’t get an iPhone. Fall asleep on a friend’s sofa. Fall asleep on your sofa at home. Love someone. Don’t have too many storage containers in your garage. Try and write a song. Write a poem. Try and sing that song you wrote. Fall down. A lot. Be real. Have real talk. Watch the Disney Channel. Cut your hair regularly. Stay up late. Accept the fact you have regrets. Cry. Let someone else pay $25 for a teddy bear. Live in a two story house once. Move. Spend a weekend in the country. Visit your dad at the cemetery. Talk to him. Laugh till your stomach cramps. Drink beer. Drink more beer. Admit you went to see Vanilla Ice in concert. Cry. Know someone who can paint. Live out of your car. Take picnics. Come up with a special language only you can understand. Believe. Pretend you’re having a good time, even when you’re not. Cry. Sing at a karaoke bar. Sing Summer Lovin at that karaoke bar. Remember that you’re stronger than you think. Be loved. Get enough sleep. Buy too many kinds of Christmas wrapping paper. Clean out your linen closet regularly. Brush your hair every day. Wonder. Sit front row at a concert. If you got it, flaunt it. If you don’t got it, who cares. Go home for Thanksgiving. Just go home. Fall asleep to the sound of your washer running. Fall down again. Buy an iPod. Go to a rodeo. Be in the rodeo. Run. Keep moving. Drink a lot of grape Kool-Aid. Let go. Cry. Accept. Don’t win the lottery. Choose love. Let time heal. It heals everything. Just give in.

Till next time...
